We can haul your horse for you if you don’t have your own trailer. Your junior rider can come and “hang out” during regular barn hours and spend supervised riding time with their horse. We’re here to help you enjoy your horse and are always happy to provide advice, encouragement, and education to help you with your horse. Onsite amenities including a large riding arena, trails, jumps, barrels, poles, and a lighted roundpen provide areas for you to explore your chosen discipline or try a new challenge. We provide free horse treats!!
At Locust Run Stables we provide training for horses that need started, refreshed, or finished. Our training program is based upon resistance-free natural horsemanship combined with classical dressage principles in which the horse learns to be a safe and fun partner for the rider. Each horse is started quietly and slowly with great care given to ensure the horse does not develop any fears or bad habits. The horse is taught to have trust in their rider/handler and is trained with much encouragement and praise. This training system produces a happy, confident horse which is safe and well-adjusted to riding. We can also train your horse in the finer points of riding using classical horsemanship methods. Whether you want your horse to basic skills, jumping, dressage, eventing, or advanced trail we can help!! We are also gaited horse friendly!
