Locust Run Stables sits on 10 acres with an adjoining 6 acres of additional leased pasture. The barn provides 19 stalls, all of which are equipped with mats, fans, crossties, and heated water buckets. The indoor arena measures 60’ x 120’ and has slanted walls, well-cushioned footing, and roll-up side curtains for ventilation. There is a 66’ diameter roundpen with 10° slanted walls, crushed limestone footing and overhead lights. There is also a 130’ x 260’ lighted outdoor arena within which there is a 66' x 198' large dressage arena with crushed limestone footing. There are plenty of jumps, poles, barrels, and other equipment which may be used in training. The large arena is also equipped with lighting and a viewing area with seating. Within the barn there are feed and tack rooms and a concrete tacking/farrier area. There is also an outdoor concrete washrack with crossties, and paddocks and a large turnout area behind the barn. Ample parking is provided as well as a play area and sitting area for guests.
Having over 30 years experience with horses, Becky Brown is the primary instructor/trainer at LRS. Mrs. Brown is a certified riding instructor through the CHA and is also Red Cross certified. Mrs Brown is also a USDF Bronze medalist and is currently a participant in the USDF L Program for dressage judges. She continually strives to build upon her horse knowledge by attending seminars, conferences and events and by also obtaining certifications which will benefit the programs of safety and instruction at LRS.
